Grandma's Applesauce

A healthy dessert or snack your kids will love--homemade applesauce with cinnamon and nutmeg.
 

Ingredients

  • 4 medium cooking apples, quartered
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Method

Heat peeled apples and boiling water over medium heat. Reduce to simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients, heat to boiling, and stir about 1 minute.
