Good Morning....we used to have raspberry bushes at our first home...we loved going out and picking enough to put on our cereal for breakfast..For a while we could not figure out what was going on...the raspberries were always gone when we went out. We had a fenced in back yard so we knew no one was just walking over and having a few....We watched our large dog Ginger (at that time) one day while she was in the yard....and sure enough, she walked over to the raspberries and would pull the ripe ones off and eat them....my dog had asquired a taste for raspberrries..Believe me, I would never feed them to a dog because we loved them....We had to laugh at first but then we tried to figure a way to keep her from eating them all....After a while we put a netting over them and that did help some....Sherry8

Hi Sherry.  I had to laugh about your dog Ginger eating the raspberries.  We had a dog named Charlie when my boys were growing up, and he used to eat the blackberries.  I sent my kids out to pick the wild blackberries,  and they came back saying they couldn't because Charlie was eating them.  Not only that, but he was tasting them first and only eating the ripe ones.  I told them to just pick berries that Charlie couldn't reach.  Then they fussed about the bugs on them.  I wash them, so that was no problem, but one son refused anyway.  A neighbor boy says he will  pick blackberries for me next summer.  I hope so.
