Heart-Healthy Cheese Ball

This cheese ball combines reduced-fat and fat-free cream cheese with chopped luncheon meat and green onion, plus a little seasoning and pepper.
 

Ingredients

  • 8 oz fat-free cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 3 or 4 green onions, chopped
  • Low-fat turkey or ham luncheon meat (such as Health Choice), chopped finely
  • Mrs. Dash seasoning (any flavor)
  • Pepper

Method

Mix cream cheeses together in a bowl. Add green onion and luncheon meat to cream cheese. Sprinkle with Mrs. Dash seasoning and pepper to taste. Cover and chill for 1-2 hours. Shape into a ball. Serve with pita chips or wheat thins. (You may add additional things to this great cheese ball: olives, relish, or a little chopped mint; or roll it in some dill weed.

 

Notes: This recipe is so easy my 11-year-old can make it. You can enjoy great taste with lower fat and sodium, without even knowing it is a healthier choice.
