Radishes and shallots are cooked in a little olive oil and butter, then sprinkled with brown sugar, lemon juice and peel, and sesame seeds.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs radishes, washed & trimmed
  • 1 lb small shallots, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • Juice and grated zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Method

In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat cook the radishes and shallots in the oil and butter for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add sugar; stir and cook for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat; add lemon juice, zest and sesame seeds. Sprinkle with parsley.

 

Notes: This can be served hot or cold.
