Spicy Curry Popcorn

This popcorn has a bright yellow color from curry powder and turmeric, and a little "kick" from two kinds of pepper added to the butter tossed with the popped corn.

  • Servings: 5 cups


1 Tbsp Canola or Vegetable Oil
⅓ cup Unpopped Popcorn Kernels
¼ cup Unsalted Butter
1 Tbsp Curry Powder
1 tsp Turmeric
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
⅛ tsp Cayenne Pepper


Place oil and popcorn kernels in popcorn popper. While corn is popping, place butter in a microwave-safe small bowl and melt. Stir curry powder, turmeric, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper into melted butter. Place hot popcorn in a serving bowl and drizzle with butter mixture; toss to combine. Serve immediately. Makes about 5 cups.
