A cooked mixture of ground turkey and onion with cabbage is spooned into muffin cups that have been lined with crescent roll dough. After baking, the individual cups are served with mustard.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat the oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add the onion and ground turkey and cook until it is browned. Add the cabbage, salt and pepper. Stir until the cabbage is wilted, about two minutes. Remove skillet from heat.
Spray 16 muffin tins with nonstick spray.
Place the wide side of each crescent triangle over the muffin tin opening, allowing the wide part of the dough triange to dip into the tin. Place 1/4 cup of meat/cabbage filling in center of dough and then fold the points of the triange over each other to enclose. It does not have to be sealed - the muffin tin will keep the filling in. Continue filling and folding the remaining triangles.
Bake, uncovered, about 8-10 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown. Serve hot with mustard--either for dipping or swirled over the tops.
Notes:
Makes 16 magic pouches. We usually have two per person. This recipe is so quick and easy we eat it on busy weeknights.
